關於我們 About CIRCUS GATE

成立於2015年，期待透過這扇大門引領大眾進入馬戲的風光，如同臺灣民國60-70年代雜技存在於我們的生活之間。同時也期待透過這扇大門，成為臺灣當代馬戲與各界連結的出口。近年專注於透過馬戲的創作實踐社會參與，其中又以「社會馬戲」作為團隊的核心，除了透過創作，期待以文化紀錄、社會關懷、生活連結、實驗教育等路徑使「馬戲」這個名詞，除了娛樂，更能夠是眾所皆知的文化、精神意義。

2021年《馬戲公園》透過馬戲來連結各種場域、展演的想像、2023年藝術總監楊世豪的個人作品《After》獲得台新藝術獎提名，持續透過實驗與創作來定位台灣馬戲，亦於2022、2023年獲選為新北市傑出藝文團隊。

Founded in 2015, we hope to lead the public through this door into the world of circus, reminiscent of the acrobatics that existed in our lives during the 1960s and 70s in Taiwan. At the same time, we aspire for this door to become an outlet for contemporary circus in Taiwan to connect with various sectors. In recent years, we have focused on social participation through the practice of circus, with "social circus" being the core of our team. Beyond creation, we aim to use cultural documentation, social care, life connections, and experimental education to ensure that the term "circus" is not only associated with entertainment but also recognized for its cultural and spiritual significance.

In 2021, "The Circus Park" connected various fields and imaginations of performance through circus. In 2023, our artistic director, Yang Shih-Hao's personal work "After," was nominated for the TAISHI Arts Award. We continue to position Taiwanese circus through experimentation and creation, and in 2022 and 2023, we were selected as an outstanding arts and cultural team in New Taipei City.

理念 Concept

以「社會馬戲」為核心，讓曾經受惠於學習馬戲的我們也能有「回饋社會」的價值。而我們的社會馬戲，在創作上主要關注社會問題與議題，在推廣與教育則是藉由遊戲與挑戰的方式讓孩童一起「玩」馬戲，並在參與的過程中認識自己及產生對自我的認同，培養孩子們從小就能夠認識馬戲的存在，開啟每個孩子身上內在原有的馬戲 DNA。

With "Social Circus" at our core, we aim to give back to society based on the benefits we have received through learning circus arts. Our social circus primarily focuses on social issues and topics in our creations, while in promotion and education, we encourage children to "play" circus through games and challenges. This participatory process helps them understand themselves and develop a sense of self-identity. We strive to cultivate an early awareness of circus in children, awakening the innate circus DNA that resides within each child.

信念 Belief

成為推進臺灣馬戲文化的一份子，以實驗性創作開拓當代馬戲不同的面相，以社會馬戲的精神打破社會日常既定的框架與規範。

Become a part of advancing circus culture in Taiwan by exploring different aspects of contemporary circus through experimental creation, and breaking the established frameworks and norms of daily society with the spirit of social circus.
